Anti Robotic Dance Music - Kemaca & Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble

Enter a world of musical ecstasy and exploration when Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble and Kemaca join forces at Aarhus Jazz Festival. This concert features two unique sections that take the audience on a journey through the diversity of jazz and the soundscapes of the future.

Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble

Lithuania's jazz scene is undergoing an exciting development led by Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble who will be performing the first part of the concert. Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble burst onto the music scene in 2022 with their debut album American Stories, which set a new standard for Lithuanian big band jazz. Headed by the talented Lithuanian composer Jievaras Jasinskis, the band takes its audiences on a journey through the diversity and innovation of jazz. With their compositions, created by the band's 13 composers, Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble explores the frontier of jazz and presents audiences with a unique sound that combines elements of contemporary music, rave, and techno.

Auto Robotic Dance Music - Kemaca & Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble

After Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble, we shift gears and move into the future of sound with Kemaca aka. Kenneth Dahl Knudsen and Matias Fischer. Kenneth Dahl Knudsen has created the piece "Anti Robotic Dance Music", a composition that redefines the essence of dance music. Anti Robotic Dance Music challenges conventions and autogenerated music in a world where humans fight against algorithms and robots.

Alongside Vilnius JJAZZ Ensemble, Kemaca will take you on a journey into the future of nightlife, where music is human and incorporates elements such as phrasing, micro-rhythms, and instant dynamics that machines cannot recreate. The concert ends with a collaborative jam session with spontaneous musical dialogs, mixing styles, and inspiration.
