The quartet is half Danish, half German, and the music contains elements from both the Danish and German jazz and avant-garde scenes;
The repertoire is original music by Jakob Astrup and includes compositions inspired by the Scandinavian musical tradition, the 60s avant-garde, and the modern German jazz scene;
The band creates a space with plenty of room for improvisation and spontaneity, where each musician has the freedom to contribute their specific sound and ideas to the overall experience. Jacob Astrup & Co. recorded their first album in April at FinlandStudio in Aarhus.
